for First term students
Introduction to Theoretical Physics, Measuring in Physics Theory
This class for first term students has ben held last in 1998/99.
Technically, the class will present and elaborate on the basic principles
of Physics as seen from the side of a theoretical Physicist:
-
Causality
-
Deterministic theories
-
interaction in physics versus the former proposal of Newton (action reaction
principle)
-
observation, description, model, theory and prediction in Physics
-
local classical fields
-
mathematical tools such as integrated, differential, integrand formulations
will be compared.
-
description ways such as writing physics results with vector components
(tedious), with gradient operator operators {\sl div, rot, grad} (not generalizable),
and vector products (not correct in more or less than 3 dimensions) will
be compared to the elegant and modern way of using exterior and differential
forms throughout (commonly known as physics laws given in terms of relations
of integrands): no indices, no difficulties with higher or less dimensions
than 3, no sign problems to hassle with.
Some earlier fragments of approaches may be seen from Essays
